Schön, dass Du hierher gefunden hast. Es ist Mitte 2022 und wie Du siehst, sind auf dieser Website derzeit keine großen Foto-Touren gelistet. Einer der Gründe ist recht offensichtlich: Covid. Das Risiko, das sich daraus für mich ergibt, ist immer noch sehr real. Große Fototouren werden Jahre im Voraus geplant und die Veranstalter vor Ort benötigen von mir Vorauszahlungen, damit sie Hotels, Transport, Verpflegung etc. für die Gruppen buchen können. Viele Kunden wollen aufgrund des Ansteckungsrisikos nur mit Rücktrittsrecht buchen. Wegen der langen Vorlaufzeiten ist nach wie vor auch nicht garantiert, dass Ziel-Länder zum Reisezeitpunkt keine Einreisebeschränkungen haben werden.

Es gibt aber noch einen weiteren Grund, warum ich derzeit mit neuen Fotoreisen eher zögerlich umgehe. Die Umwelt. Fliegen fühlt sich nicht mehr richtig an. Die Zeichen sind nicht zu leugnen und deshalb werde ich derzeit keine großen Reisen anbieten.

Worüber ich gerade aber sehr wohl nachdenke sind Fototouren in deutschen und europäischen Städten. In kleinen Gruppen von zwei bis drei Personen. Im Elektrofahrzeug (hat jemand Tesla gesagt?) 5 Tage Hamburg, München, Berlin, Wien, Amsterdam, Strasbourg, Heidelberg oder Salzburg. Mit einer kleinen Gruppe im eigenen Fahrzeug, beweglich und schnell.

A word from Chris Marquardt, June 2022

Glad you found your way here. It's mid-2022 and as you can see, there are no major photo tours listed on this site at the moment. One of the reasons is pretty obvious: Covid. The risk this poses to me is still very real. Large photo tours are planned years in advance and the local organizers need advance payments from me so they can book hotels, transportation, meals, etc. Many clients only want to book with the right to cancel because of the risk of contagion. Also, because of the long lead times, there is still no guarantee that destination countries will not have entry restrictions at the time of travel.

But there is another reason why I am currently hesitant about new photography trips. The environment. Flying doesn't feel right anymore. The signs are undeniable and that's why I won't be offering big photo tours for now.

What I am thinking about right now, however, are photo tours to German and European cities. In small groups of two to three people. In an electric vehicle (Tesla anyone?). 3 to 5 days in Hamburg, Munich, Berlin, Vienna, Amsterdam, Strasbourg, Heidelberg or Salzburg. With a small group in an EV, quick and nimble.
